Legacy Charter School Announces Golf Tournament and Gala Fundraiser

GREENVILLE, SC – August 22, 2013 – Legacy Charter School announces the first annual Legacy Lions Golf Classic, September 30th at the Green Valley Country Club in Greenville.  The tournament is aimed at raising funds for Legacy’s interscholastic athletic programs.

Legacy Charter School is a Title 1, 501(c)(3) public charter school for grades K-12 offering a rigorous and relevant educational program leading to college graduation. Legacy’s vision is to empower underserved students to become principled, fit and productive citizens in a changing society. Due to limited funding, Legacy is dependent on donor funding for athletic programs. The programs promote physical fitness and wellness which Legacy considers to be critical components to academic development.

“Our holistic approach to education is transforming and strengthening the entire community,” states Legacy Board Chair, William W. Brown. “This tournament presents a highly visible  opportunity for sponsors to contribute to our students’ academic success through the experience of varsity sports.”

A pre-event celebration, the Legacy Golf Gala at the Wyche Pavillion, will be held Sunday, September 22nd from 6:00-9:00 pm. Tickets are $40/person. The Gala includes a buffet, bar and silent auction and presents an additional opportunity for donors to support the school.
