Lexington One hires Offing

LEXINGTON, SC – At the July 15, 2014 regular monthly meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board approved the hire of Trina M. Offing as assistant administrator at FOCUS.

Offing currently serves as school counselor and student assistance team chair at Dutch Fork High School in District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties.

With 16 years of public education experience, she began her career as a second-grade teacher at Tobacco Road Elementary in the Richmond County School District in 1998. She moved to Crayton Middle School as a mathematics teacher in Richland County School District One in 2000 and to Watkins-Nance Elementary as school counselor/student intervention chair in 2002. In 2006, Offing moved to A.C. Flora High School where she served as school counselor/smaller learning communities grant co-coordinator and testing and tutoring coordinator before moving to her current position.

Offing holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Lander University, a Master of Education in school counseling from South Carolina State University, and an Educational Specialist in school counseling and a Master of Education in Administration from the University of South Carolina.

She has elementary education, elementary and secondary guidance, and secondary principal certifications.

Offing is a member of the American School Counselor Association and South Carolina Association of School Administrators.
