Lexington One promotes Warren

LEXINGTON, SC – At the July 15, 2014 regular monthly meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board approved the promotion of Matthew E. Warren.

Warren, who currently serves as assistant principal of Gilbert High School, assumes the role of coordinator for Student Services in the District Office.

With 11 years of public education experience, he began his career as a resource teacher teaching in the BEST program and coaching at White Knoll High School in 2003. He was promoted to assistant administrator at White Knoll Middle School in 2006 and promoted to assistant principal at Gilbert High School in 2007.

He has served as a district hearing officer for more than two years and is a certified SAFE-T evaluator, a graduate of the South Carolina Developing Aspiring Principals Program and Crisis Prevention Intervention certified.

Warren holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Presbyterian College and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. He has educable and trainable mentally disabled (K–12) and secondary administration certifications.

Warren is a member of the South Carolina Association for School Administrators, the South Carolina Association for Curriculum and Supervision Development, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Advisory Council, the Palmetto State Teachers Association and the Lexington High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
