LHS Counselor Selected to Attend a White House Recognition Ceremony

LEXINGTON, SC – The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) named Lexington High Director of Counseling and Advisement Anna Duvall a 2015 ASCA School Counselor of the Year semi-finalist and Recognized School Counselor.

Duvall is one of 16 top tier semi-finalists selected by an ASCA independent review panel. The panel, which consisted of principals, school counselors, superintendents and teachers, also selected five finalists and a winner.

ASCA received 76 nominations for this year’s award, the most in the program’s eight-year history.

The semi-finalists, finalists and winner will attend a White House Ceremony on January 30 and the School Counselor of the Year Gala at Washington, D.C.’s historic Union Station.

The Palmetto State School Counselor Association nominated Duvall for the ASCA School Counselor of the Year program. That organization named her the 2014 South Carolina School Counselor of the Year.
