Life-Saving Collaboration: Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Blood Drive with The Blood Connection

July 23, 2023

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is teaming up with The Blood Connection to host a blood drive on July 27, 2023. From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to welcome generous donors who wish to make a difference by giving the gift of life.

The Blood Connection, a renowned non-profit organization that supplies blood products to hospitals across the region, has been at the forefront of saving lives and serving the community for decades.

The timing of the event couldn’t be better, as blood supplies tend to dip during the summer months when vacations and travel often disrupt regular donations. By organizing this blood drive during such a crucial time, the LCSO and The Blood Connection hope to bolster reserves and ensure that sufficient blood products are available to meet patient needs.

For those considering donating blood, The Blood Connection assures a safe and seamless process. The organization adheres to the highest standards of safety and hygiene, with skilled professionals guiding donors through each step of the way. Potential donors should be at least 17 years old (or 16 years old with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good overall health.

Donating blood takes only a short amount of time but can have a long-lasting impact. Each donation can save up to three lives, making every drop of blood a precious gift of hope for patients in need.

Appointments are encouraged, but not required. Click HERE to schedule your appointment. Donors will receive a $60 e-gift card after completed donation!

Together, we can create a stronger, healthier community – one donation at a time.
