Loggerhead Apparel Expands to Children’s, Announcing Two New Upstate Retail Partners

March 5, 2012

Local children’s apparel stores, Moppets in Greenville, and Frilly Frog in Greenwood, become first retail partners to carry the new Children’s products.

GREENVILLE, SC – March 5, 2012 – Loggerhead Apparel, based in Greenville, announces its new Children’s offerings through a launch in two local retailers – Moppets in Greenville, and Frilly Frog in Greenwood. The company’s commitment to using only American-grown cotton and manufacturing its clothing completely in the U.S. carries through to its Children’s offerings.

“We’re thrilled to announce our partnerships with these two locally owned and operated children’s stores,” said Founder Sara Painter. “With our Men’s and Women’s products available in over 20 retailers in South Carolina, we’ve had so many asking about clothing for their young children, so it’s exciting to now have these available.”

The new Children’s shirts are constructed of 100% Combed Cotton, which provides an incredibly soft feel, and are tagless for added comfort. As with all Loggerhead Apparel products, 10% of each sale goes directly to sea turtle conservation efforts. Since launching last Spring, the company has generated over $15,000 in donations, for groups such as the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Hospital, the Sea Turtle Conservancy in Florida, and Charleston-area SEWEE Association.

And, the Children’s clothes came just in time for Loggerhead Apparel founders, Sara and Zac Painter – their first child, a boy, is due on St. Patrick’s Day. “We can’t have our son dressed in the competition,” joked Zac.

Moppet’s is located at 16 West Lewis Plaza (off Augusta Road) in Greenville.

The Frilly Frog is at 225 Main Street in Greenwood, beside another Upstate retailer of Loggerhead Apparel’s adult offerings, David Lindsey Clothier.

About Loggerhead Apparel
Loggerhead Apparel provides premium, American-grown, American-made clothing and accessories. The concept was born in early 2009 in the minds of two South Carolina natives. One a product of the Lowcountry, who grew up on the coast just north of Charleston, the other a product of the Upstate, the grandchild of mill workers in the textile town of Spartanburg. Their passion and pride for the state of South Carolina, its people and its beauty, its wildlife and its economy, led to Loggerhead Apparel.
