December 14, 2015

LS3P, an architecture, interiors and planning firm founded in Charleston, SC and Hubbard Architecture LLC of Myrtle Beach, SC are thrilled to announce a merger of the two firms as of January 1, 2016.

This merger brings LS3P’s total number of offices to seven, expanding the firm’s presence, portfolio, and expertise in the Horry-Georgetown/Grand Strand area. Co-founded by James ‘Jim’ Hubbard, AIA and Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Daniel, both of whom worked for nearly twenty years at Pegram Associates Inc., Hubbard Architecture specializes in architectural design and planning for hospitality, attraction, residential, and retail projects.

Firmly rooted in the Southeast for over fifty years, LS3P provides services nationwide from its offices in Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville, SC and Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington, NC. Thompson E. Penney, FAIA, LS3P’s Chairman|President|CEO, notes that this strategic partnership will allow the two firms to combine portfolios and strengths to offer clients broader expertise and better serve the region. “Hubbard Architecture has established a reputation for excellence within the industry,” he explains. “We are honored to combine forces with a firm which consistently embodies the highest values, and represents the best aspects of our field in terms of design, integrity, and relationships. We look forward to working together to serve Horry Georgetown/Myrtle Beach area.”

Hubbard Architecture’s experience, strong local knowledge, and successful client partnerships align perfectly with LS3P’s vision and culture.  With a mission to “Engage, Design, Transform,” LS3P delivers small-firm client service and attention with large-firm expertise and resources.  Hubbard Architecture is likewise devoted to client relationships, and to the idea that teamwork within the firm and the larger community are foundational to success.

Jim Hubbard, who is also the incoming President of AIA South Carolina for 2016, sees the merger as an excellent opportunity to blend Hubbard Architecture’s strengths with LS3P’s knowledge and resources.  “In partnering with LS3P,” he says, “we have a significant opportunity to expand our capacity, better serve our clients, and achieve significant positive impacts for multiple market sectors across the region.”

The name of the firm will remain LS3P; the Myrtle Beach office will operate as LS3P Hubbard for a transitional period of no more than one year.
