CHARLESTON, SC – On February 4th at Gaillard Municipal Auditorium in Charleston, South Carolina “Royal Ball Masque MMXII” will take place from 6:30 pm – 1 am. The Mardi Gras themed event is open to adults 18-years and up and is presented by Krewe of Charleston (http://kreweofcharleston.org). Cost of admission is $150 per person and that includes open bar and food. “This is a great event for anyone who’s never had a chance to Mardi Gras in New Orleans — and especially for those who have. We have brought the fun, the grandeur, the energy of New Orleans and Mardi Gras to Charleston for all to enjoy, said Royal Ball Masque MMXII Spokesperson Donnie Bulliard.
This year’s Royal Ball Masque MMXII will be lead by the Royal King, Captain Brian Brennan, a double amputee and an Iraqi Freedom veteran. In addition, Golden Globe winner and Academy Award-Winning Actor Tom Berenger (star of “Platoon,” “The Big Chill,” and many others) will serve as Grand Duke of the ball.
Three months ago Charleston, South Carolina unseated San Francisco as the No. 1 Tourist destination in the country, according to Conde Nast Travel magazine. Only three years after forming the Krewe of Charleston, this year’s Mardi Gras Ball could have up to 1,000 in attendance.

About The Krewe of Charleston
The Krewe of Charleston was established in 2009 bringing family and friends together to celebrate the merriment of fellowship year-round, with special emphasis placed on Mardi Gras, and to support local charities with the Mardi Gras spirit. Since then, the Krewe has enjoyed two fully-attended Royal Bal Masques with ornate costumes, incredible music, and all the spirits desired to “let the good times roll.” Mayor Joseph Riley of the City of Charleston. Mayor Mitch Landrieu of the City of New Orleans also deemed February 12, 2011 “Krewe of Charleston Day” and gifted us with a key to the city of New Orleans.
