Marguerite Willis Elected President of South Carolina Women Lawyers Association

COLUMBIA, SC – Nexsen Pruet attorney Marguerite Willis has been named President of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association effective January 24th and will serve a one-year term. Willis has previously served as its President-Elect, Treasurer, and Board Member.
“I look forward to leading SCWLA and its over 900 members into the future as a vibrant, relevant organization for all women lawyers in South Carolina,” said Willis.
SCWLA just celebrated its 20th anniversary in September 2014. And, on December 8th, 2014, Willis was one of a group of women lawyers from South Carolina sworn into the US Supreme Court by Chief Justice Jean Hoefer Toal.
Marguerite Willis develops proactive solutions to help clients achieve business objectives while avoiding issues with federal and state antitrust and trade regulation laws. She has served as national counsel for a number of cases, including federal and state class actions, and prosecuted major antitrust matters involving a wide range of claims, from unfair trade practices and false advertising to monopolization and vicarious corporate liability. Willis lives in Florence, SC, with her husband Frank and their two Labradors, Bojangles and Cotton.
