Marti Bluestein of Bluestein, Nichols, Thompson, and Delgado new chair of SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center

February 1, 2016

Marti Bluestein, founding partner of Bluestein, Nichols, Thompson, and Delgado (BNTD), has been appointed Board chair of the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center. Bluestein assumes the role from the Center’s outgoing chair, John Kassel, Esq., of Kassel and McVey.

For more than 30 years, the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center has fought for low income South Carolinians, helping them overcome social, economic and legal injustice. The Center’s goal is to influence policymakers to ensure the law is fair, focusing on issues such as housing, education, hunger, public benefits, domestic violence, immigration, health care and consumer issues.

“We are honored to have Marti’s leadership on our Board,” said Sue Berkowitz, Executive Director of the SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center. “Her commitment to helping us achieve our mission of promoting justice for all South Carolinians makes a positive difference that improves the quality of life for everyone in our state.”

Bluestein has served on the SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center’s Board of Directors since 2005. “I believe strongly in its mission of justice,” she said. “Now I am eager to begin my new role, working with our members on projects that advocate for the rights of all South Carolinians.”
