Meadors design installation statement from Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg

Today, Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg released the following statement on the design installation of 430 figure cut-outs on the lawn of the Gaillard Center, representing the approximately 430 homeless men, women and children currently living in the Greater Charleston area:

“This installation is a great example of serious public art with a serious public purpose, and I commend Meadors and its partners for making it happen. It’s a moving reminder of our shared duty to help others in need — and a powerful call to action for our whole community on the issues of homelessness and affordable housing.”
