Megan Branham selected as new Director of Policy and Research for PAFCAF

Statewide association’s growing team is focused on advocacy for provider agencies caring for South Carolina’s most vulnerable citizens
COLUMBIA, SC – This month, the Palmetto Association for Children and Families (PAFCAF) will welcome Megan Branham as Director of Policy and Research. In this role, Branham will lead efforts to monitor state and federal child welfare policies and build relationships to further the Association’s vision and mission.
“Megan brings unparalleled expertise on critical issues that directly impact the children and families in our care, like maternal and child health issues,” said Erin Hall, PAFCAF CEO. “Her knowledge, passion and recognition as an expert and leader on these issues will make a significant difference for our members and the children and families we serve throughout South Carolina.”
Branham has spent more than a decade in South Carolina in various roles at family and children-focused non-profits devoted to improving the lives of children. In her various roles, Branham has helped lead policy initiatives giving more children the opportunity to grow up in safe environments. She has implemented programs to improve maternal and child health and facilitated community efforts to prevent teen pregnancy. Most recently she served as the Director of Policy at Children’s Trust of South Carolina.
Branham has a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She recently completed The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Leadership Institute for State-based Advocates with 13 policy colleagues from across the country.
Her favorite role is being mom to Emily and wife to Randy. They live in West Columbia, SC and enjoy spending time at Disney World.

The Palmetto Association for Children and Families was created in 1986 to unite the diverse agencies who serve children and families in South Carolina and give them a place to exchange ideas, gain knowledge and work to address issues related to the quality of care given to children and their families. Member agencies have the ability to serve approximately 3,500 children at any given time. The challenges of caring for these children are great. The Palmetto Association for Children and Families works to promote the best care possible for children.
