Michelin(R) and Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott Partner to Help Consumers Weigh Their Options

September 9, 2009

GREENVILLE, SC – September 9, 2009 – Two legends are teaming up this week as Michelin announced its launch of the MICHELIN LTX M/S2 tire and its partnership with National Football League (NFL) hall of famer and four-time Super Bowl champion Ronnie Lott.

Throughout the 2009 football season, Lott will share his expertise with fantasy football players at www.ronnielottfantasyfootball.com . At the Web site, he will help consumers weigh their options as they participate in the ever-popular fan phenomenon, fantasy football. Lott will have three posts each week designed to give fantasy owners a place to get great, credible advice, not only on football, but on tire choices as well.

Throughout the year, fantasy football players will find tips and information on who’s performing well, waiver wire pickups, what to expect in the coming week, a review of the previous week’s games, injury updates, Ronnie’s weekly picks and more.

Football is a game of strategy and fantasy football fans enjoy playing because it allows them to be in the driver’s seat. They can weigh their options and choose the best player that will give them the best results, said Lott. Thanks to my partnership with Michelin and my passion for the game, I’ll be an active participant this season providing fantasy football players with valuable information needed to make informed decisions.

Having a legendary performer like Ronnie Lott on our team to help launch the MICHELIN LTX M/S2 tire is an honor, said Don Byrd, vice president, marketing, Michelin Americas Small Tires. He resonates well with consumers and can provide information they are looking for in a space where they are already playing. It provides an authentic connection between a legendary sports figure and Michelin’s most legendary tire.

The previous generation MICHELIN LTX M/S tire has always been at the top of its category and has remained a long-time consumer favorite. To make a great tire even better, Michelin tire engineers incorporated several innovations and technologies into the new MICHELIN LTX M/S2 tire. The utilization of these advanced technologies provides significant improvements in safety, longevity and fuel efficiency. The new MICHELIN LTX M/S2 tire is the longest lasting tire in its class and gives consumers up to 20,000 more miles than competitive tires* and stops seven feet shorter than the competition**.

Michelin’s partnership with Lott will run from September through the end of the regular NFL season.
