Nicholson named director of Lexington One’s food service and nutrition

LEXINGTON, SC – During the August 5, 2016 special called meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board named Sally B. Nicholson the new director of food service and nutrition.

With 34 years of professional experience, Nicholson served as food services director for the School District of Pickens County from 2008 to 2016. She was tasked with overseeing nutrition at 26 schools, operating a summer feeding program and maintaining a cost-effective budget. She was named Director of the Year by the South Carolina School Nutrition Association in 2014.

Nicholson previously worked as a nutrition and food services director for Kershaw County Memorial Hospital and Kershaw County School District. She has additional experience from her time as a clinical dietitian at the Mobile Infirmary in Alabama and as chief clinical dietitian at the Kershaw County Memorial Hospital.

A member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Nicholson was elected president of the South Carolina School Nutrition Association for the 2007–2008 school year.

Nicholson received her Bachelor of Science in home economics and dietetics from the University of Southern Mississippi.
