Pan-Fried Salmon with Shrimp

Toss the frozen fish sticks and try this delicious pan-fried salmon and shrimp with your kids tonight.

  • 6 wild caught salmon filets
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil + 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Old Bay blackening seasoning
  • Parsley, dried
  • Oregano, dried
  • Onion powder
  • 12-18 precooked cocktail shrimp, washed, tails removed
  • Lemon wedges, optional

Directions:

 

  1. Brush each salmon filet with olive oil on one side.
  2. Spoon crushed garlic over olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle salmon with salt, pepper, Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, and dried parsley.
  4. Heat remaining olive oil and 1 Tbsp. butter over medium high heat.
  5. When hot, place unseasoned side of fish on pan and sear and cook for approximately 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip when fish begins to turn brown.
  7. Sprinkle second side with onion powder and oregano and allow to cook for another 2-3 minutes until fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Flip fish back over and top each piece with a small bit of butter.
  9. Transfer to a serving plate.
  10. Toss shrimp in remaining pan drippings and heat through (approximately 45 seconds).
  11. Place 2-3 shrimp on each salmon filet.
  12. Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top of fish if desired.
