COLUMBIA, SC – C.D. Rhodes, public finance attorney with Pope Flynn, a public finance and governmental law firm based in Columbia, has been appointed to the board of directors & advocates of the Historic Columbia Foundation. Founded in 1961, the Foundation is “dedicated to preserving Columbia and Richland County’s historic and cultural heritage;” it also serves as the steward of seven historic Columbia properties, as well as of 14 acres of landscapes and gardens.

“I am honored to be a part of Historic Columbia’s board of directors and advocates,” says Rhodes. “My undergraduate degree was in historic preservation and community planning and I wrote my senior thesis on Robert Mills — so needless to say I’ve admired Historic Columbia’s preservation work for many years. The organization’s leaders have been single-minded in their focus on preserving Columbia’s historic treasures.”

Rhodes received his JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law; he also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina and a BA in Historic Preservation and Community Planning from the College of Charleston.
