Prisma Health Midlands Foundation announces Grants and Gifts benefiting Prisma Health—Midlands

Generous donors have made gifts and designated grants to Prisma Health Midlands Foundation, in support of Prisma Health—Midlands. These gifts and grants support emergent needs of the hospital system during the COVID-19 public health emergency as well as other ongoing clinical needs.

Truist:
A $250,000 grant designated for COVID-19 emergent needs such as medical equipment and community outreach programs.

Brave Beginnings, a program of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation:
A $68,638 grant to fund 10 cribs and a Giraffe Omnibed Carestation for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Bank of America Charitable Foundation:
A $10,000 grant to support emergent medical equipment needs during Prisma Health—Midlands’ COVID-19 response.

Carolina Children’s Home:
A $10,000 grant to fund non-violent crisis intervention training for Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands nurses and Child Life specialists. The training will equip nurses and Child Life specialists with skills to help deescalate a patient or patient’s family member who is experiencing a behavioral crisis or violent episode.

Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI), in partnership with Aflac:
An in-kind gift of 20,000 face shields, valued at $60,000. The face shields are part of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used by Prisma Health—Midlands team members who are on the front lines of COVID-19.

Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union:
A gift of nearly $31,000 for Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands, through a partnership with Credit Unions for Kids® and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union also made a $10,000 gift to help with Prisma Health–Midlands’ COVID-19 response.

Children’s Charities of the Midlands:
A $10,000 gift from this non-profit organization located at Lake Carolina. The gift will support Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands through Rising Champions, a Prisma Health Midlands Foundation annual giving society benefiting Children’s Hospital.

Prisma Health Richland Hospital Board of Trustees:
A $15,000 gift to purchase five high flow nasal cannula devices used to treat respiratory illnesses at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. These devices will be used during the COVID-19 response and for future flu seasons.

Arnold Family Endowment:
Nearly $114,000 from the Arnold Family Endowment, led by Lisa and Ben Arnold, was designated to help fund three ventilators for Prisma Health Baptist Hospital’s COVID-19 response and for future use.

Prisma Health Baptist Hospital Board of Trustees:
A $78,000 gift to fund two ventilators for Prisma Health Baptist Hospital’s COVID-19 response and for future use.

Calhoun Traumatic Brain Injury Foundation:
A $6,000 gift to fund iPads, cases and stands for patients in the Prisma Health Richland Hospital Trauma Units who are facing COVID-19 to have virtual visits with their families and friends during their hospital stay.
