Rebuild Upstate receives grant from Hollingsworth Funds

December 3, 2015

Hollingsworth Funds provided local nonprofit, Rebuild Upstate, with a $25,000 grant.

Hollingsworth Funds will be used for capacity building for Rebuild Upstate over the next year, said Chris Manley, Rebuild Upstate’s executive director. These funds are vital for Rebuild Upstate to keep up with the continuing number of requests they have for home repairs in the region.

“Rebuild Upstate is incredibly proud of our partnership with Hollingsworth Funds and we look forward to stretching these dollars to improve as many homes as possible,” Manley said.

Rebuild Upstate helps low-income homeowners with home repairs and accessibility improvements to create safe, livable housing in existing homes and neighborhoods. Typically homeowners fall into one of three segments: low-income families with children in the home, seniors age 60 and older, and people with disabilities.

Rebuild Upstate has a diverse funding model comprised of individuals, corporations, foundations, local churches and small businesses that support the organization.

Hollingsworth Funds primarily seeks to ensure that low-wealth and underserved people in Greenville County have the opportunity and pathways to participate in a prosperous society.
