ReWa honored by SCDHEC for Environmental Protection

May 26, 2016

Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) Water Resource Recovery Facilities (WRRFs) received the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) Facility Award of Excellence for 2015.

The Facility Award of Excellence recognizes those facilities that are striving to meet or exceed expectations in environmental protection. All facilities that have a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) or a No Discharge (ND) permit were eligible to submit an application for the recognition.

“The SCDHEC Facility Award of Excellence is not easily attained and is most definitely a multifaceted recognition” said Glen McManus, Director of Operations for ReWa. “We are proud to be honored at seven of our facilities for the outstanding performance in the arena of water quality protection; this wouldn’t be possible without the comprehensive teamwork environment that we possess here at ReWa.”

Seven ReWa WRRFs were presented the award at the South Carolina Environmental Conference in March. The facilities that have received the awards are Durbin Creek, Gilder Creek, Lower Reedy, Mauldin Road, Marietta, Piedmont Regional and Pelham.
