ReWiGo Ministries asks local businesses to “Ramp It Up”

January 22, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – January 22, 2014 – ReWiGo Ministries,  a local organization serving elderly, disabled  and low-income people in the Upstate with emergency home repairs, wheelchair ramps  and accessibility improvements, is challenging the business community to “Ramp It Up” in 2014.

The Ramp It Up campaign asks businesses to give $125 per month throughout 2014, which would help build one new project this year, said Chris Manley, the agency’s executive director. Ramp It Up sponsors will be recognized in the agency’s print quarterly newsletter, an e-mail blast, on social media, at all ReWiGo  events, in the press and on its website.

“Each week we get upwards of 15 phone calls from individuals in need of our services,” he said. “The need for home repairs and wheelchair accessibility is easy to overlook, but this does not make it any less real.   It is vital that we increase our capacity for volunteers and projects if we hope to meet more of this need together this year – and your help is crucial.”

ReWigo Ministries knew of 1,000 people who needed help with emergency repairs and relief to their homes in 2013, Manley said. Yet limited funding allowed the agency to help just 62 families, which was a record for the non-profit group.

“We know recognizing support is important, but the most important thing about that support is it provides a safe, accessible home for a local family for years to come – saving them tens of thousands on medical and transportation costs and vastly improving quality of life,” Manley said.
