ReWiGo Ministries helped more than 60 families in 2013

January 8, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – January 8, 2014 -Twelve months ago, ReWiGo Ministries set a goal of helping 40 families through making emergency home repairs, building handicapped-accessible ramps and installing safety bars.

This non-profit that serves Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties ended up making repairs at 62 homes this year – more than doubling its 2012 output, said Chris Manley, ReWiGo’s executive director.

“This was a phenomenal year when it came to ReWiGo volunteers serving and aiding the community,” Manley said. “But we also know that the demand for our services is much higher.”

The types of work ReWiGo volunteers do centers around safety, health, and sustainability for the family or person living in the home.  Often, this may be accomplished by building a wheel chair ramp, repairing structural issues (such as a leaking roof or rotting floor boards), and other accessibility improvements.

“We are incredibly thankful for the more than four hundred volunteers this year,” said Manley. “Volunteers are the heart of our organization and vital to serving people in need.”
