Richland One announces new pre-K registration process for 2016-2017 school year

Starting March 1, families seeking to enroll their children in Richland One’s 2016-2017 pre-kindergarten programs for four-year-olds will apply online.

A link will be placed on the district’s website at www.richlandone.org when enrollment opens on March 1.  The registration form can be completed using a computer, tablet or smartphone. If parents do not have access to a computer, they can go to the Lyon Street Student Services Center at 1310 Lyon Street (room A-4), where staff will assist them with registering online.

Prior to registering their children online in March, parents must still attend a required information meeting. At the information meeting, families who bring copies of the following documentation will receive a screening appointment:

• Child’s long-form birth certificate
• Child’s immunization certificate
• Two proofs of residence (lease or mortgage statement and a utility bill or a shared household document)
• Proof of income (child’s Medicaid card or parent’s paycheck stub)

Children considered for the program must be four years old on or before September 1, 2016. Families who meet the federal guidelines for free and reduced-price lunch are given priority placement. Parents who need additional information should contact the Department of Early Childhood Education at 231-6709.
