Richland One honors outstanding employees at celebration 2017

Richland One held its Celebration 2017 employee recognition banquet on May 18 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The event recognized Teachers of the Year from district schools and Classified Employees of the Year from district schools and departments. Employees who are retiring this year after many years of dedicated service to Richland One also were honored during the program.

Robert Louis Harris of Hand Middle School was announced as the 2017-2018 Richland One Teacher of the Year. Althreasa Middleton-Precia of Lewis Greenview Elementary School was announced as the 2017-2018 Richland One Classified Employee of the Year.

The four other finalists for Teacher of the Year were: Ramona Brown of Watkins-Nance Elementary School; Randall Clamp of A.C. Moore Elementary School; Tysheonna Porcher DesChamps of W.S. Sandel Elementary School; and Dr. Belinda Willis of Lewis Greenview Elementary School.

The four other finalists for Classified Employee of the Year were: Ronald Abdul-Malik, Financial Services; Maria Arias, Foreign Languages and International Programs; Terri Eisenstadt, Satchel Ford Elementary School; and Cindy Patton, Human Resource Services.

Also during the program, Shirley Bennett of Human Resource Services, who is retiring this year, was recognized for her 50 years of service to the district. Billie Southard of W.J. Keenan High School received the Star Achiever Award in recognition of her 20 consecutive years of perfect attendance.
