October 9, 2016

One school will remain closed but all other Richland One schools will reopen Monday, October 10, 2016 in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

Webber Elementary School in Eastover will be closed Monday because power has not been restored and is not expected to be back on by Monday morning.

All other Richland One schools will operate on a two-hour delayed start Monday. Buses will pick up students two hours later than the normal pick-up times, and classes will begin two hours later than normal. Students will be served breakfast and lunch at school.

The Preschool Children with Disabilities (PCD) Program morning session is canceled for Monday. The PCD Program afternoon session will operate on a 30-minute delayed start. Richland One Adult Education’s 8:30 a.m. classes are canceled for Monday; other Adult Education classes will proceed as scheduled.

All Richland One employees (except employees at Webber Elementary School, which will be closed) should report to work at their normal start times. Employees who are unable to report to work due to storm-related matters, child care or other issues should notify their immediate supervisors.

Please be advised that SCE&G crews are working now to restore power at Burnside Elementary School. If power cannot be restored at Burnside by Monday morning, that announcement will be made later.
