For the ninth consecutive year, The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort will bring the season of giving to the guests of the Charleston Ronald McDonald House with their ‘Five Star Day’ Event.

On Tuesday, November 1st,  the staff of the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort will work their magic at Charleston’s Ronald McDonald House to turn this ‘home away from home’ for families of seriously ill children into a Five Star Hotel for a day. The hotel staff, including its award winning chefs, spa employees, naturalists and others will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, massages, facials, manicures, entertainment, recreation, housekeeping and laundry services, and much more!

‘Five Star Day is quite possibly the nicest treat any parent could receive, and for our parents it’s especially wonderful.  Spending long days at the hospital looking after their sick children is eased considerably on this day when  the kind staff of the Sanctuary of Kiawah take over the Ronald McDonald House with gourmet meals, massages, entertainment, cleaning and more,’ said Alix Tew, Director of Development at the Ronald McDonald House.

Other companies that help make the ninth Annual Five Star Day happen are Mercedes of Charleston, Out of the Garden and Sysco Foods of Columbia.

Each night the Ronald McDonald House has 32 families, who have traveled to Charleston for their child’s medical treatment, calling our House their ‘home away from home’.  Our home offers these families’ comfortable beds, hot meals, a caring staff, and a four-legged friend, Gardy, all just steps from the hospital. RMHC Charleston has 24/7 awake staff to help our families whenever needed.

Ronald McDonald House Charities empowers families by providing stability and vital resources so they can get and keep their child happy and healthy. By keeping families together, RMHC helps children heal faster and cope better.
