The Rotary Club of Five Points assisted the Pelion High School Basketball Players with strategies and tactics to help them become more successful.

Rotarians assisted the players in many areas of self-esteem from taking the ACT test, etiquette, the importance of faith-based sports, to the use of sports in furthering their education.  Under the guidance of their coach, Five Points Rotarian Brian Szumilas, the team spent time reading to Pelion Elementary School students as well as participating in a free basketball camp for elementary school students.

The Rotary Club of Five Points gifted the players with jackets, shirts and ties.  The Pelion Basketball Team will culminate with the team introducing themselves and giving a short talk on the value of the program at a lunch program at the Rotary Club of Five Points.

Belk at Trenholm Plaza was also a sponsor of the program and partnered with The Five Points Rotary Club.

The Five Points Rotary Club meets on Fridays at 1:00 at Segra Park. One of the Club’s main focus is on the education and welfare of children.
