S.C. Chamber announces Business Week application deadline

April 17, 2017

The application deadline for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s Business Week is less than two weeks away. Business Week is a week-long program that brings some of the state’s brightest high school students to Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., from July 23 – July 28 and gives them insight into what it takes to compete for jobs in the global marketplace. Applications are due no later than April 28, 2017.

“Business Week is a critical investment in the future of our state because it prepares today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders,” said Chamber President and CEO Ted Pitts.

Participants, who live on Presbyterian’s 240-acre campus for the week, have an invaluable opportunity during Business Week to learn about leadership, teamwork and individual responsibility from Business Week’s corporate sponsors and alumni, as well as policy experts, educators and members of the Chamber’s team.

To apply, students must: demonstrate leadership through participation in school and community activities; rank academically in the top one-third of their high school class; be rising sophomores, juniors or seniors in high school; and return to the S.C. Chamber of Commerce a complete application form (PDF format) that includes the signature of the student’s principal or guidance counselor. Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with class rank and application content taken into consideration.
