Save Our Summer Blood Drive
June 25, 2012CHARLESTON, SC – On July 5th, Trident Health will host two blood drives for the community. Blood donations are down in the first five months of 2012 compared to the same time last year. The American Red Cross has an urgent need for types O negative, O positive, B negative and A negative blood donations. All blood types are encouraged to donate.
Summer and holidays present unique challenges to ensuring an adequate blood supply with vacations and activities filling donors’ schedules. “Patients can’t take a summer break from needing blood. That blood can only come from our generous volunteers,” said Christy Joyner, medical technologist with Trident Health.
To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-733-2767 or schedule your appointment online: www.redcrossblood.org and enter tridentmed as the sponsor. Walk-ins are welcome but donors with appointments will be taken first.
