SC Watermedia Society kicks off Annual Exhibit with Reception, Activities in Charleston
October 10, 2011CHARLESTON, SC – November 5, 2011 – The South Carolina Watermedia Society willhold its annual Exhibition in Charleston with a juried show at the CityGallery at Waterfront Park opening November 5 at 5:30 PM. with commentsfrom Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr.
Other activities planned for the Society’s event will be the President’s Welcome Reception and Original Art Sale, held at the Lowcountry Artists Gallery, 148 East Bay Street on Friday November 4 from 5:00-7:00 PM.The event is open to the public and set to coincide with the FrenchQuarter and Lower King Street’s traditional First Friday Art Walk.Artists will be on hand to meet and greet, refreshments will be servedand a Post Card Sale of original 4×6 paintings by the Society’smembership will benefit future programs.
The exhibition at the City Gallery will run through the end of 2011.
Since 1977, the South Carolina Watermedia Society has been promoting theartistic and professional interests of its members as well as providingvisual arts programs to the public. The Society works towards achievingits goals by making the accomplishments of its members available to abroad base of South Carolinians.
SCWS, the largest statewide visual arts group, is an active presentingorganization. We nurture and promote South Carolina artists by providing exhibition opportunities, special programs to market their originalworks and coordinate educational programs. In addition, our goalsinclude public outreach and participation in the arts.
