South Carolina Chamber announces new hire

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce today announced that it has hired Genevieve McGroarty as its Associate Vice President of Communications. Genevieve comes to the Chamber from the South Carolina Department of Commerce where she worked after having spent six years on Capitol Hill. While on Capitol Hill, Genevieve served as Communications Director for Congressman Robert Hurt and as Deputy Press Secretary for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. She is a graduate of Furman University.

“We are pleased to announce that Genevieve has joined our team here at the South Carolina Chamber,” said SC Chamber President Ted Pitts. “She brings with her a unique skill set and a wealth of knowledge on the issues that businesses are facing at both the state and federal levels. Genevieve’s previous experiences will be an asset in developing our strategy and spreading the message on behalf of the state’s business community. We are lucky to have her on board.”
