Sports tech startup BANDWAGON receives “Qualified Business” designation

BANDWAGON, a sports tech startup headquartered in Greenville, SC, can now add “Qualified Business” designation to its pitch. Signed into law in 2013 by SC Governor Nikki Haley, The High Growth Small Business Job Creation Act encourages investment in early stage, high-growth job creating businesses that will increase the number of high-quality, high-paying jobs in South Carolina and ultimately expand the state’s economy by enlarging the base of wealth-creating businesses.
From the beginning, BANDWAGON wanted to be “homegrown” and support its local economy, even when it was more en vogue to set up shop in one of the more sports tech-centric hubs like Silicon Valley, Austin, or NYC. This recognition from the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office affirms that the decision to build the technology company on home soil was a good one. “When we started building BANDWAGON, being headquartered in South Carolina was very important to us,” says Founder & CEO, Harold Hughes. “Having this designation not only acknowledges the type of company that we plan to build right here in the Upstate, but it also creates an incentive for investors to invest in BANDWAGON, which will directly impact South Carolina in a positive way.”

BANDWAGON will have their commitment to and pride for their home team on full display at it’s official launch and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 16th at 4:30pm at Fluor Field, home of the Greenville Drive, prior to Wednesday’s home game against the Kannapolis Intimidators.
