St. Pat’s committee announces 2017 Get to the Green Race details

On Saturday, March 18, 2017, the St. Pat’s in Five Points festival will offer more than music, good eats, and green beer.  This year’s festival will feature several exciting changes to the long-standing Get to the Green road race, the largest in the Midlands, which is celebrating its 15th year.

2017 Get to the Green highlights:

  • NEW! 15K, in honor of the race’s 15th anniversary
  • NEW! 5K selected as the 2017 Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) South Carolina State 5K Championship Race
  • Four race distances: 15K, 10K, 5K, 1-Mile Family Fun Run
  • Free entrance into the 35th Annual St. Pat’s in Five Points festival with any race entry ($20 value)
  • 15K runners will receive a long sleeve t-shirt, 10K runners receive a tech t-shirt, and 5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run participants receive an official race t-shirt
  • Custom finisher’s medal for all participants

2017 registration price breakdown:
5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run

  • Now – February 18, 2017: $30
  • February 19, 2017 – March 17, 2017: $35
  • March 18, 2017 (Race day): $40
    Children 12 and under are $20 for the 1-Mile Family Fun Run

10K

  • Now – February 18, 2017: $35
  • February 19, 2017 – March 17, 2017: $40
  • March 18, 2017 (Race day): $45

15K

  • Now – February 18, 2017: $45
  • February 19, 2017 – March 17, 2017: $50
  • March 18, 2017 (Race day): $55

ABOUT ST. PAT’S:
For over 30 years each spring, the Five Points district has welcomed thousands of patrons to celebrate all things green and Gaelic at the Midlands’ largest festival, St. Pat’s in Five Points.  Having experienced the largest attendance numbers on record in 2016 with 44,000 attendees, the Five Points Foundation and the St. Pat’s in Five Points Planning Committee have begun planning for the 35th Annual St. Pat’s in Five Points, with some exciting changes and updates.

NEW WEBSITE:
Launched this fall, the new and user friendly site features several upgrades from the previous festival website, to include:

  • Mobile component – fully functional mobile component, which can be used on a cell phone or tablet
  • Social media feed – Five Points Twitter feed will update in real time in the footer of the new site
  • Photo gallery – improved photo gallery with larger photos from past year’s festivals
  • Clean, easy to navigate – the new site is user friendly, with most information readily available to patrons on the home page
  • Newsletter sign up – those interested in receiving news and updates from Five Points have the option to sign up through the new St. Pat’s site

NOTE: The website reflects the community partnerships and entertainment line-up from the 2016 festival, which will be updated as it becomes available for 2017.

FESTIVAL PARTICIPATION OPTIONS:

  • St. Pat’s in Five Points Parade
    The application to participate in the musical mile down Devine Street is now available online and is due March 1, 2017.  The 2017 Grand Marshal is Fort Jackson, in honor of their Centennial celebration.
  • Get To The Green 15K /10K/5K/1-Mile Family Fun Run
    Registration for the Midlands’ largest road race is now open at GetToTheGreen.com.
  • Vendor Application
    The arts & crafts vendor application is available on the St. Pat’s website.Food vendors are by invitation only.
