STEM Premier and ECPI University Breaking New Ground in Student Connectivity

July 30, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC – STEM Premier is proud to announce an exciting partnership with ECPI University, bringing the Charleston-based company’s focus of connecting STEM talent in high schools, higher education and industry, full circle. The partnership kicks off this week with a comprehensive roll-out of the STEM Premier platform to all students at ECPI University’s Charleston campus. Future enrollees will create profiles and connect with industry as standard coursework.

Additionally, this partnership will further assist current high school students in discovering various pathways for career success through the introduction of ECPI University to the STEM Premier platform.  Meanwhile, ECPI students will be introduced to the growing opportunities with local and national corporations and discover scholarships, internships and job opportunities.  STEM Premier provides students with guidance, mentorship and customized resources for overall education and career success.

“ECPI University is a trailblazer in discovering new ways to support our growing technology and medical markets through our revolutionary platform,” said STEM Premier Business Development & Diversity, Cara Florence. “This is a fundamental shift in the way people think about connectivity between students, post-secondary institutions and corporations.”

The acquisition cost of an employee is growing rapidly, meanwhile, the skills needed to close the gaps in the workforce increase. The partnership with ECPI University and STEM Premier is a measureable way to successfully bridge those gaps and move the needle – connecting K-12 to Higher Education to Industry.

School districts are taking notice of these efforts in places like Dorchester School District Two, where high school students have the opportunity for dual enrollment through ECPI University. STEM Premier facilitates the student pipeline in order for college and businesses to discover their future talent.

Dr. Alford, Assistant Superintendent at Dorchester School District Two, agrees, “it’s important that our students have access to rigorous and relevant STEM programs. We are fortunate to have partners to assist us in preparing and marketing a valuable workforce.”

“As a career-focused university with unparalleled employment outcomes, incorporating STEM Premier into our student-centered curriculum was a no-brainer. We look forward to being an integral piece of the workforce development pipeline,” said ECPI University Charleston Campus President, James Weaver.

STEM Premier is actively collaborating with school districts, post-secondary institutions and businesses within the state and nationally to encourage a new way to connect with the pipeline of talent and increase the amount of students entering STEM careers.
