Local Charleston Designers a Nationally Recognized Team

CHARLESTON, SC – June 6, 2012 – Stitch Design Co. has been named the best small firm in HOW Magazine’s “Your Best Work Design Awards”, a graphic design trade magazine renowned for discovering the nation’s creative powerhouses large and small. HOW’s prestigious annual award highlights the best firms in the country and out of hundreds of entries, Stitch Design Co. garnered the top prize.

The graphic design team’s “extreme attention to detail and dedication to craftsmanship” is what earned them the coveted award.

Founded by Amy Pastre and Courtney Rowson in 2009, Stitch Design Co.’s work has been touted both locally and nationally by publications including Charleston Magazine, Saveur, Town & Country and Real Simple among others. While Stitch Design Co. has a strong local presence in the Charleston area with clients such as FIG Restaurant, Callie’s Charleston Biscuits, Rewined Candles, and Spoleto Festival USA, their unique sensibility has earned the attention of national clients like luxury lingerie company Eberjey and Miami’s chic Blue Moon Hotel.

“Season after season, Stitch Design Co. brings a fresh, sophisticated design approach to the Festival’s promotional materials. They have a clear understanding of our mission and audience which in turn makes their work powerfully effective” says Paula Edwards, director of marketing and public relations for Spoleto USA. “Stitch helped us bring our concept to the next level – translating our ideas into a finished product that has drawn international attention” adds Adam Fetsch of Rewined Candles. “They have an exceptional eye for texture as well as a clean and simple aesthetic.”

Known for their innovative and intricately detailed designs, Stitch has a made-to-order design philosophy, working with clients to develop brands and identity materials while crafting the finest design for printed pieces, brochures, logos, advertising, and online and electronic media. Their small and highly trained team is a valuable addition to Charleston’s growing creative community.

Pastre and Rowson are also the owners of Sideshow Press, a letterpress printing shop, located behind Stitch Design Co.’s No. 9 Cannon Street office in downtown Charleston.
