Summerville Medical Center to host “For Women Only” event

September 19, 2015

CHARLESTON, SC – Four physician experts have teamed up at Summerville Medical Center to present “For Women Only – Kids, Curves and Healthy Conversation,” a free, community event for busy women who may be interested in learning more about personal medical topics, such as plastic surgery, bariatric surgery, the latest PAP Smear guidelines and what to do in case of childhood emergencies. The event, which takes place on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5 p.m., will provide women the opportunity to hear directly from doctors and to ask questions in an intimate and relaxed setting.

“This is an exciting time for women to step away from day-to-day responsibilities and take a few minutes for themselves to explore some delicate health-related topics they may not otherwise have the time to research on their own,” said Lisa Valentine, Summerville Medical Center CEO. “This event is a chance to take advantage of valuable information, in a conversational setting that showcases our very knowledgeable team of physicians.”

Presentations will take place by the following physicians until 7 p.m.:
5:15 p.m.: Pediatric Emergency Medicine by Dr. Douglas Holtzman
5:40 p.m.: Understanding PAP Smear by Dr. Beth Cook
6:05 p.m.: Plastic Surgery by Dr. Dennis Schimpf
6:30 p.m.: Bariatric Surgery by Dr. Michael Michel

Hors d’ oeuvres will be provided and participants also will receive a free gift for attending. To register, call 843-797-3463. Summerville Medical Center is located at 295 Midland Parkway.
