Taylors Fire and Sewer District receives top award from SCDHEC

Taylors Fire and Sewer District is announced that the district recently received the South Carolina Department of Health and Environment Control’s (SCDHEC) Facility Award of Excellence for 2016. The award was presented at the March 2017 South Carolina Environmental Conference held in Myrtle Beach.

According to DHEC, the Facility Award of Excellence recognizes those facilities that are striving to meet or exceed customers’ expectations in environmental protection. All South Carolina facilities that have a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) or a No Discharge (ND) permit were eligible to submit an application for the recognition.

“Our staff and management can be proud of this tremendous accomplishment,” said Douglas Wavle, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Taylors Fire and Sewer District.  Their outstanding performance in the area of water quality protection is a result of the comprehensive teamwork that is practiced within the Taylors District.”

“This is the first time our district has been the recipient of this prestigious award so we are particularly proud.” said Samantha Bartow, Director of Sewer Services for the Taylors Fire and Sewer District. “This honor validates our hard work and high standards in facility operations, maintenance, management, and the protection of the environment while maintaining our commitment to meet or exceed the expectations of the customers we serve.”
