CHARLESTON, SC – According to campaign finance reports on file with the SC Ethics Commission, the Tecklenburg for Mayor campaign has raised a total of $266,766 from 669 donors, with $133,070 coming in the most recent quarter. Almost 70% of Tecklenburg’s donors are from the Charleston metro area, with an average donation of $399. The campaign currently has $210,963 cash on hand.

Campaign manager Joseph Tecklenburg said the results prove that a business person with a strong vision for making Charleston not just the #1 tourist destination in America, but also the #1 place to live and work and raise a family could compete and win in a crowded field of candidates who have run for office in the past.

“As the only candidate in the race who’s never run for public office or built a political donor base before, we never expected to be first in contributors, and second in both total funds raised and cash on hand, at this point in the race,” said campaign manager Joseph Tecklenburg, basing his analysis on the candidate filings that were available at press time. “That’s a remarkable accomplishment on the part of all of our 669 grassroots donors, and we’re honored to have their support.”
