The Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission Celebrates the Grand Opening of the Seven Oaks Park Expansion

COLUMBIA, SC – The Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission (ICRC) will celebrate the grand opening of the Seven Oaks Park expansion and renovationon Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Seven Oaks Park, 200 Leisure Lane Columbia, SC. To commemorate the event, ICRC will host a VIP ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Grand Opening Celebration at 5:00 p.m.open to the public. Attendees will enjoy food and refreshments, tours of the community center and other activities. This 18,000 square foot facility includes a new gymnasium, indoor walking track, a new entrance, reception area and office space as well as the renovation of the park’s existing gym.

“The Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission is excited to open this long awaited facility for health, wellness and leisure activities which provides the perfect complement to the Park’s recently renovated baseball complex,” said ICRC Director Elizabeth Taylor. “We are proud to continue our long history of providing quality facilities, services and programs to the people in our community.”

Additionally, ICRC expects to open additional developments at Saluda Shoals Park in the fall of 2015. Saluda Shoals Park will include a six (6) field soccer complex, six (6) clay and four (4) hard tennis courts, an additional boat launch and a new entrance off St. Andrews Road.
