Transitions’ moves 1,000th client into permanent housing

November 19, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – On November 17, Transitions announced that we have successfully moved our 1,000th client into permanent housing. This is a huge success, not only for Transitions, but for the entire community. 4 years ago, there were doubts about whether we would be able to do we hoped to do-end homelessness. While the war on homelessness continues, 1,000 men and women off the streets and back in homes of their own is a battle won. With the help of over 30 community partners, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of supporters we have been able to change the lives of the homeless and give them the hope of a new life. “This milestone is a great accomplishment for Transitions and the community,” said Craig Currey, Transitions CEO. “Placing over 1,000 homeless men and women into permanent housing enables them to contribute to the Midlands, improve their lives, and help the overall environment of the Columbia area.” Lauren Wilkie, Transitions Director of Programs added,”After only 4 years of being open, having over 1,000 clients permanently housed is a huge feat! It took us working with the entire community to make such a large impact. It is truly impressive and I am thrilled to be a part of it!” Transitions is grateful for the supporters and partners who have made this achievement possible. We will continue to do our part to end Midlands Homelessness!
