CHARLESTON, SC – Thanks to the generous support of the InterTech Group and Anita Zucker, two Charleston County School District (CCSD) schools will each get a $25,000 boost to specific school programs.

The Jerry Zucker Middle School of Science and Stall High School were the recipients of the grants.

“We are thankful for the generous support of our community partners that that help us reach more students and expand the opportunities for learning at our schools,” said Gerrita Postlewait, CCSD Superintendent. “InterTech and Anita Zucker go above and beyond for CCSD schools.”

Zucker Middle School plans to use the grant to help expand and refine the focus of their STEM classes and offerings.

“This funding will have a school-wide impact at Zucker and will help us offer engaging, STEM-focused opportunities for our students,” said Jake Perlmutter, principal at Zucker Middle. “Without the dedicated backing of community partners like the InterTech Group and Anita Zucker, our ability to continually grow and develop our science-focused curriculum would be greatly diminished. We are very grateful for their support.”

Stall High School plans to use the funding to purchase new musical instruments for its ever-growing band program.

“The InterTech group and Anita Zucker have always been supportive of our vision to be innovative, inspiring and promote student learning,” said Kim Wilson, principal at Stall. “They understand the importance of a quality Fine Arts program and how it can promote student achievement. The Band of Blue is in a much better place thanks to them.”

The InterTech Group Foundation awards grants to non-profit organizations and schools each fall and spring. Last school year, they supported CCSD schools and programs with more than $80,000 in grants.
