Two Lexington One schools receive donation from Barnes Oil and Propane, Inc.

LEXINGTON, SC — Barnes Oil and Propane, Inc. recently donated $500 to Gilbert High and Pelion High. The company awarded the money through Exxon Mobil Corporation’s 2014 Educational Alliance Program.Exxon Mobil has a long history of supporting educational programs such as Educational Alliance that encourage the next generation to pursue studies and careers in fields involving mathematics and science. The program works to ensure that all students have access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

GHS Graduate and Barnes Oil and Propane Representative Chris Barnes presented GHS Principal Ann O’Cain with the donation for GHS, and PHS Principal Clark Cooper received his school’s donation from Barnes Oil and Propane Representative David Atkins.

GHS will use the funds for technology to support the school’s mathematics and science programs. PHS will use the funds for AP Calculus instructional materials.
