United Way of the Midlands Now Accepting 2016 Blueprint for Leadership Applications

January 21, 2016

Blueprint for Leadership, a program provided by United Way of the Midlands, is now accepting applications for its 2016 graduating class. The program targets diverse future community leaders who are passionate about volunteer service in the nonprofit sector.

During the 10-week program, participants attend workshops on a variety of topics including nonprofit law, the roles and responsibilities of board members, strategic leadership, best practices in programs and nonprofit governance.

The course meets twice a month starting in February and concluding in June. More than half of graduates find leadership placements within the community.

“Blueprint is unique because it is the only professional development course in the Midlands with a specific focus on nonprofit board leadership,” said Mac Bennett, President and CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “Graduates will gain the leadership skills and nonprofit governance expertise needed to best serve our community.”
