Upstate Alliance Introduces New Aerospace Focus

GREENVILLE, SC – December 12, 2011 – Aviation and aerospace companies are soaring to success at SCTAC and in the Upstate. The Upstate’s advanced materials research and manufacturing, engineering and workforce training have allowed several aviation related companies to flourish here.

As a result, the Upstate Alliance recently added a an aerospace focus to their marketing strategy to bring businesses to the Upstate. Companies such as Lockheed Martin, Michelin, Cytec and the newly established, Carbures, proudly call SCTAC home. These companies along with GE Aviation, Champion Aerospace, Greenville-Spartanburg International and several general aviation facilities add to the Upstate’s allure.
 
There are over 50 aviation related companies in the Upstate. In addition, the Upstate is home to a diverse presence of advanced manufacturers, including a growing cluster of automotive and advanced materials companies. Established supply chains for raw materials and products also provide excellent opportunities to the aerospace industry. SCTAC and the Upstate provide a strategic location for subcontractors and suppliers to aviation parts manufacturers.
