Voterheads launches free service to monitor local and county governments across South Carolina

July 26, 2016

Voterheads announced today that citizens in all 46 South Carolina counties will be able to stay informed on local issues by registering online at www.Voterheads.com.

Subscribers enter a zip code and select local organizations to monitor. Over 100 key interests, such as taxes or animal rights, can be monitored. Then each week an email arrives containing a custom report with upcoming meetings, important agenda items, and issues that match personal interests. Subscribers can reply to the email with questions or comments. Voterheads will forward those questions and comments to the appropriate officials.

“Every week, your city, county, and school board vote on issues that can impact you and your community,” says Karl McCollester, CEO of Voterheads. “But staying informed on meeting times and what is talked about can be daunting. That means local government decisions are often made with the input of only a handful of influential citizens. We want to make democracy more user-friendly at every level, but in particular, at the local level where people can find information on what’s happening at local council meetings, school board meetings, and much more.”

Earlier this year, Voterheads made its service available in limited markets throughout South Carolina. Nearly 1000 citizens signed up during the trial phase.
