VP of Loss Prevention – Charleston, SC

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a VP of Loss Prevention to join our team of outstanding professionals.

Duties include but are not limited to:

•Communicate with all employees to ensure positive and clear understanding of credit union goals. Implement strategies to meet goals and performance standards to achieve desired results in areas of supervision.

•Oversee efforts to approve all accounts for repossessions assigned for recovery. Arbitrate with members for possible redemption or auction and concur on recommended repairs and recondition of collateral prior to auction.

•Oversee LP Manager and Asst. LP Manager in litigation efforts with the CU attorney to include bankruptcy, claim and delivery, fraud, repossession deficiency balances and magistrate action.

•Develop career plan for Loss Prevention Manager as potential successors and implement actions needed to ensure adequate successor(s) are developed in accordance with the succession plan. 

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the area of Banking, Finance, and/or Paralegal and seven years of similar or related experience, including in-depth knowledge of collection, repossession and bankruptcy laws. Extensive financial background and a minimum of three years management experience required.  Previous experience in real estate foreclosures, lending, and/or credit card management is preferred.
