CHARLESTON, SC – Womble Carlyle attorney Cynthia Spieth Morton has been selected as a member of the Lowcountry Diversity Leaders Initiative Class X.

Carefully selected, established leaders from all sectors of South Carolina society take part in the Riley Institute at Furman’s Diversity Leaders Initiative, a unique, highly interactive, multi- award winning program that imparts deep knowledge and skills to effectively manage and lead increasingly diverse workers, clients and constituents. DLI graduates become Riley Fellows, members of a powerful, cross-sector, statewide network, who gather at OneSouthCarolina®, the statewide gathering of Riley Fellows, to examine issues critical to the state and how they can drive positive change in the state.

Class members meet over the course of five months in a format driven by timely, relevant case studies and other experiential learning tools designed to maximize interactions and productive relationships among participants.

Womble Carlyle attorneys Brent Clinkscale, Mike Cashman, Lindsay Smith, Stephanie Yarbrough and Greenville Director of Administration Barbara Fountain are among the graduates of the Diversity Leaders Initiative.

Cynthia Spieth Morton’s practice includes commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales and borrowing, leasing, and assistance with homeowner governance issues, including preparation, amendment, and review of restrictive covenants. As counsel for lenders, owners and developers, she has been involved in many multi-million dollar commercial developments in South Carolina both as lead counsel and as local counsel for out-of-state lenders and borrowers. She has also handled asset sales and purchases that did not include real estate.
