WorkKeys® Testing and Profiling Meets Workforce Needs

GREENVILLE, SC – Used by 250 employers across South Carolina, the WorkKeys® test helps provide a common language between job seekers, employers, and training providers. Job seekers are assessed for applied mathematics, locating information, and reading for information to identify baseline skills required by in-demand jobs.

The South Carolina Work Ready Communities Initiative (SCWRC) is funding WorkKeys® job profiles for South Carolina businesses. The maximum number of profiles a business can receive per profile site depends upon the number of employees working at the site and the types of jobs to be profiled. These profiles provide an accurate picture of the skills and skill levels needed to perform specific jobs.

Sam Tisdale of Greenville Technical College is now one of 20 authorized job profilers across the state working with businesses to identify workforce needs. Visit www.scworkready.org and click on your county to find authorized profilers and take advantage of this free service.

Greenville Technical College has recently increased opportunities for individuals to access WorkKeys® testing. The testing is now offered every Tuesday in the Buck Mickel Center at 216 South Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville.

The change has been made to better meet the needs of Upstate employers. “In order to help local employers find qualified employees, Greenville Technical College has increased the frequency that job seekers can come in and take the assessments,” Tisdale said. “We are trying to accommodate people’s busy schedules and increase their chances of becoming employed or getting better paying jobs.”
