Wynit Distribution named one of the best places to work

Two years after moving its headquarters to the Palmetto State, WYNIT Distribution has been named one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina.
This award was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group 12 years ago to recognize companies that create an environment where employees are encouraged to grow and be strong workers and community members.
The results of the award are based on a two-part survey that looks at thing such as a company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. It also includes an employee survey to measure their experiences. The combined scores determine the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.
“WYNIT is a special place because of the people who work here,” said Pete Richichi, the company’s chief operating officer. “Our employees are what makes WYNIT unique and we appreciate their efforts. We are honored by this award because it reflects greatly on their efforts.”
Some of the things WYNIT has done since moving its corporate offices to Greenville include company-supported recreation softball and kickball teams, yoga classes, mindfulness training, a book club and soccer games. There are monthly birthday celebrations and frequent contests allowing employees opportunities to win tickets to baseball games, hockey games and other local events.
“WYNIT is a great place to work because of the diverse culture, no matter your background, beliefs, ethnicity, or preferences. Everyone is nice, non-judgmental, and welcoming. It is the melting pot of the work place,” said Augie Pena, a Category Specialist in the Corporate Business Development office.

The company along with other honorees will be honored in Columbia in August.
