“We’re so excited to celebrate our Centennial “Paint 5 Points” art initiative at this festive event at The Gourmet Shop, a true Five Points establishment,” says Amy Beth Franks, executive director of the Five Points Association. “The Paint 5 Points Champagne Bash & Art Auction is the perfect way to honor our local artists and Five Points’ 100th birthday in an intimate setting after shopping, sipping and strolling through our village neighborhood during A Starry Night.”

As part of its Centennial celebration, Five Points hosted Paint 5 Points, a local art-making series featuring ten of the Midlands’ most esteemed, established artists. Participating artists created works of art during live, outdoor making sessions throughout Fall 2015, with Five Points scenery, businesses and passersby as inspiration. Each artist’s work, which also reflects his or her personal connection to Columbia’s original village neighborhood, will be available for auction.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with first pour at 7 p.m. Art auction bidding ends at 9 p.m. Complimentary valet service will be provided by Southern Valet. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

Featured champagnes include the welcome wine, Roederer Estate, served in a commemorative glass; Ruinart Blanc de Blanc NV, Laurent Perrier Brut NV, Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV, Veuve Clicquot Brut NV and Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rose NV. Calvisius, The Gourmet Shop’s newest featured caviar, will make its debut at the Paint 5 Points Champagne Bash & Art Auction.
