2012 TWIN Award Winners Announced

COLUMBIA, SC – November 21, 2012  – The Palmetto Center for Women (PCW) celebrated the 33rd annual TWIN Awards on Friday, November 9, 2012. PCW recognized 40 nominees for their outstanding achievements as leaders and role models in business and in the Midlands community. Eight women were chosen as honorees. The eight honorees and their respective categories are:

2012 Corporate TWIN Award: Renee Brooks, EVP/Chief Administrative Officer, SCBT

2012 Entrepreneur TWIN Award: Barbara Blau, President, DP Professionals

2012 Arts TWIN Award: Lee Hubbard Lumpkin, Chair of the Board of Columbia Classical Ballet Company

2012 Education TWIN Award: Dr. Pamela Martin Wilson, President, Allen University

2012 Volunteerism TWIN Award: Regina Hampton Brown, Manager, Community and Governmental Relations, Palmetto Health

2012 Health and Wellness: Catherine Wilson Horne, President/CEO, EdVenture Children’s Museum

2012 Government TWIN Award: Anna Elsey Cavanagh, 1st Lieutenant over the Crime Scene/Latent Print Unit

2012 Inspiring Young Woman: Elisabeth Bischofberger, Senior Account Manager, Colonial Life

The Palmetto Center for Women Award, awarded each year to a business or entity in the Midlands that shows exceptional contribution toward achieving the Center’s strategic goals, went to The Leadership Institute at Columbia College.

Over 400 people gathered at the ceremony to recognize these outstanding women and to hear a keynote address from Governor Nikki R. Haley.
